The Back Nine

      I used to be an executive in a television station.  Now I’m a stay-at-home father of two young kids. I thought that I would be leaving behind the stress of pressing deadlines, countless personnel issues, budgets and saying things just to make people feel better about their jobs and lives. And I find myself in exactly the same environment; just my direct reports are now two and five.   I just could never play the game in my career successfully enough.  I suppose I just never acquired the taste for kissing ass.  So we’ve established my character flaw; I’m not particularly good at sucking up.  

     So I’m having my own mid-life crisis and reinventing myself.  No I’m not leaving my wife and kids or buying a corvette.  I decided to return to school and get my Master’s degree in Psychology.  Now, for those who know me this actually makes them erupt in laughter.  I’m Italian and a Leo, so my propensity for saying what is on my mind has me slightly at a disadvantage.  

      But in life, it’s about always learning.  There’s no reason to ever stop learning and evolve. That’s why I started this site.  By no means am I a captain of industry or financially carefree.  In fact, quite the opposite.  But success isn't universally measured the same and there's no cut-off age when you must achieve that success. Hopefully, you enjoy my anecdotes, life-lessons, an occasional kick-ass recipe and ultimately the journey of reinvention and the difficulty of being reborn. Read on and enjoy!
